Okay…just caught up via podcast….wow!!! Given all that's happened, I guess it's not that big of a shock but it is still a HUGE move.
Gotta hand it to the dude in this respect, he's got King-Kong balls to walk away from something he's as good at – and seems to genuinely enjoy – as much as radio to go learn something new from the ground up…especially something as difficult as running a successful restaurant & trying to turn it into a franchise.
Good luck to you, Bret!! I've always enjoyed your work on the Junkies! Take care & keep somebody posted on how it's going, please.

I'm not caught up on the PC's but I take it from this thread that Bret is leaving the show? To run 'Sup Dogs?
I have to say that I will be genuinely disappointed. I think the guy is legitimately funny and adds a ton to the show.
Also if Cocktail gets a bump to Producer you just know the podcasts will suffer with whoever takes them over.

Si…that's what's going down. Didn't sound to me like it's a lock that Valdez gets a bump out of this. TBD was my impression.

I wish Bret all the luck in the world. That dude has huge balls. Think he's the type that's going to succeed at whatever he does. The show is def going to change.

So bummed to hear this news. Know some people on this board are sensitive to the notion of a 5th Junkie, but as far as I'm concerned he was. Huge loss. Genuinely funny guy and great daily contributor to the show. He'll be sorely missed by this listener.

Is there any way Bret could still be on the show via ISDN line then run Sup Dogs afterwards? I know it's not possible but I do think Bret will be sorely missed. Hopefully he will call in frequently and still appear at JPOs and other events.
Forgive me if any of this has already been covered, I'm currently downloading today's podcasts.

It looks like a pretty unique little place. Might wind up being a good move if they franchise out.
At the bottom there is a section for comments/suggestions. I would highly recommend that everyone avoid sending Meaty Thigh comments. That would just be childish.

Potential silver lining to Bret leaving is that maybe Valdez will do the music from now on. Hope so b/c his choices are money.
