When I first started listening to the show, I would defend JP when everyone pummeled him for being the weakest link because he was good at keeping the show organized.
But now…he sucks, he has nothing to contribute but boring life stories and he won't talk about anything interesting like banging a junkette or divorcing his wife
When it comes to sports talk all he can contribute to the discussion is his stupid laugh and 'The Skins are an average team' with no legit analysis
They should've had Jay Watts as a guest co-host while EB was out

OfflineDon't you mean his "staycation"? The dude is so felted he's offering to sell Lurches jersey's for a commission.
That said I still like JP and I think he is needed to keep the train moving. I do love the comments that Lurch always says though. "no one cares", "why don't you just speak for him from now on, I never understand what he's trying to say"
What's the story with those two?

OfflineWho knows abou the bitterness Lurch exhibits towards JP. There are little jabs here and there. Is it radio schtick or something real. Wow, I feel like Chad "wrestling nerd" Dukes breaking down a HHH/Vince McMahon angle.
reknaps – there's no guessing about it, straight bang-ging a 10 certainly makes life better

he's become borderline un-listenable. today when he kept going on and on about how he was the swam who thought the Lions would win I wanted to staple my ears. his stories are never good. he's irritating and obnoxious and belittles callers a lot too. a few weeks ago right before a craig davis segment.. literally right before they go to him.. he decides to share with us about how he's over fantasy football. Thanks for sharing.. no one cares.

OfflineI try to keep hanging in there with JP…but it gets harder & harder to do so. It's fun, in that awkward kinda way, listening to Lurch & EB break his balls about it. Maybe when the divorce is final, he can finally start giving up some decent stories. Gotta believe there are 24K nuggets from first hooking up with Jess, etc…
I know there's a lot of stuff I'd like to be able to tell my brothers & friends but – until my D is final – nope, not going there.
'Tis better to remain silent & be thought a fool…

My new Lurch/JP theory is that they were never really good friends to begin with. I doubt there's any realy animosity, but Lurch is incapable of caring about what he doesn't care about. Point of fact, Lurch never went to school with JP. Okay… or Cakes. But if Cakes wasn't such an insuffurably easy person to get on with, Lurch might not care about him either. Shoot even I'd probably get along with Cakes, even though I'm reasonably sure he's the Anti-Christ.

OfflineOh, man…that sucks…Cakes is the Anti-Christ?! He must be eliminated then!

Prior to the format change when politics were discussed more often, I really hated on JP and would have answered your question with a "not soon enough." Since the divorce, I kind of feel for the guy but that's mostly because I love money more than my own soul and to make a lot of it and not get to spend it would pain me unimaginably. Now whoever called his girl a 10; let's pump the brakes. She has nice cans but looks like a Mexican tranny.

JP should stick with what he does best--MCing the show. His independent contributions are lame. Remember when he tried to make an issue of having to drive to him mom's house while she was in Puerto Rico? My god, that was painful.
The Junkies Cheatsheet is OK, but you can tell that it is purely JP's baby and the other Junks don't care about it a bit. Have they ever run it when JP is not there?
I will give JP credit for the way he handled Bickel during the infamous "stop nitpicking me" meltdown on Election Day a year or two ago.
But his divorce has really reduced his interest (just like it did for Stern, IMHO). I wonder if his actions actually jeopardized the gravy train? That might explain Lurch's antipathy.
Finally, I'm intrigued by the Cakes = Antichrist reference. Ever since that Fairfax Underground posting by a JFK intern exposing Cakes as a superficially nice but deeply unpleasant person, I've wondered about the true Cakes.

yes, Rick. "Bret's favorite segment, when Cakes does the (with speech impediment) Cheat Sheet". the other junks aren't the only people who don't care about that segment. i don't give a shit about local bank robbery and car accident stories, and they've made a concerted effort to remove any national/political stories from the show because EB the Hater can't control himself when he hears "Democrat" or "Obama". and then he's egged on by smarmy JP.

OfflineCakes may very well be the Antichrist. What we have to remember is that this was a guy that was a failure at life before the Junks caught their break. Married with kids too young, fat, bald and working retail. I'm sure he was quite the angry person and that anger may still exist today.
I kid, I kid…

OfflineAt least JP checks out the board and tells the other Junks what we are talking about or think about a subject
